Kelly Lynn Modrynski, 50, of Gettysburg, Penn., went home to be with the Lord July 6, 2012.
Her final days were spent surrounded by close family and friends who were in some way or another touched by Kelly’s life. Kelly was born in Gettysburg, Pa. Aug. 27, 1961, to Donna K. (Kress) Manahan of Gettysburg and the late Calvin D. Manahan, Jr. She married the love of her life and best friend, Larry D. Modrynski, originally of Royalton, Oct. 5, 1985. Kelly graduated from Gettysburg Area High School in 1979 and attended York College of Penn. where she graduated with a degree of Associate of Science in 1981. She worked retail, marketing, sales, management and as an LIU bus driver. She devoted the majority of her life being a full-time mother to her two daughters, Ashley N. Modrynski and Lindsey B. Modrynski. Kelly loved to garden and tend to her flower beds. She also enjoyed attending Bible Baptist Church of Shiremanstown, Penn., where she also became an active member of a women’s Bible study group. She loved to cook and experiment with new recipes, travel, go to hockey games, scrapbook, take her dog, Chloe, for long walks and spend time with her family. She was fascinated by history and spent a lot of time exploring the town in which she lived. She enjoyed learning new things, including her years of Spanish lessons.
Kelly was preceded in death by her father, Calvin D. Manahan, Jr., and her step-father, Charles B. Goetz.
She is survived by her mother, Donna K. Manahan; her loving husband, Larry D. Modrynski; their daughters, Ashley N. and Lindsey B. Modrynski; her brother Scott H. Manahan; her sister, Michelle D. Manahan; her stepsisters, Laura L. Velardi, Rose M. Boich, Kathy S. Horton and her stepbrother, Michael L. Gates.
