Survived by son Chris (Judi); daughter Joani Holmes (Bobby); godchildren Donna Jean Dean, Scott Satersmoen & Berit Sivertson; special family, daughter Michelle Barrette (Alf Sivertson); son Scott Barrette; grandchildren Sam, Adam (Tracy), Benjamin & Luci Derickson; Nicholas Roy & Alex Robert Holmes; Chad & April Kirchner; Marit, Anja & Berit Sivertson; Mackenzie, Emma-Clare, Matthew & Brandon Barrette; great grandchildren Matthew LaFlex, Myles, Ryder & Ada Derickson; numerous nieces, nephews & beloved friends. Navy Master Sergeant in WWII where he learned his trade, profession & lifelong love of photography. Roy blessd everyone he touched by capturing a photographic memory & creating a treasured piece of art. Survived by children Jeff (Maria), Michelle Gebauer (Lee), Dave (Cindy) and Mark (Vicki); grandchildren; great grandchildren and 3 brothers. Longtime employee of St. John’s Hospital. High School graduate of Mahtomedi in 1987. Survived by his son, Andrew; his son’s mother, Betsy Olson; parents Lloyd and Karen Street; sister Suzanne Holweger and her son, Austin; brother Bradley (Deanna) and their children, Lynnsey, Brittany, Ben, Mary and Abi; sister Shelley Graff (Greg) and their children, Amanda, Jack and Mark; uncles and aunts Byron & Helen Anderson, David & Ina Sickels; seven cousins and their families and numerous friends. Greg enjoyed hockey, football, golf, 4H, skiing, hunting, fishing, RC vehicles and he liked to cook. Greg was an E5 Jet Engine Mechanic supervisor in the Navy. He was proud to serve his country and be a Navy Veteran. He fought a very courageous battle for many years, he died from complications contracted in the Gulf War. There will be a Celebration of Greg’s Life at the American Legion in Winona, MN date to be determined. Greg had a positive attitude and great sense of humor, he will be missed by many. Passed away peacefully & surrounded by family on July 15, 2013 after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. Jean was preceded in death by sons Nathan & Jeffrey; & father-in-law Ken Marty. Survived by husband Mark; daughter Becky (Mike); parents Dan & Fran; 6 sisters, Mary, Judy, Patty, Terry, Colleen & Chris; 6 brothers, Dennis, Dan, Jim, Tim, Mike & Kevin. Jean was active in her church & career at Cardinal Pointe of Maplewood, Presbyterian Homes. Jean was known for her kindness, servant’s heart, fun loving spirit & love for her family & friends. She will be dearly missed. Service Friday (7/19) 11:00 AM at FIRST EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, 2696 Hazelwood St., Maplewood, with luncheon to follow. Private interment. Passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2013. She was born April 28, 1923 in St. Paul to Carl and Esther Coleman. She graduated from Wilson High School in St. Paul, attended Hamline University and married Donald Baumann on October 2, 1943. Together they raised 6 children. Eleanore, a homemaker for many years, started up Mahtomedi Girl Scout Troop 151 and subsequently became a professional trainer and day camp organizer for the Girl Scout Council of St. Croix Valley in St. Paul, MN for 14 dedicated years. She retired in 1980. An exemplary seamstress, she also enjoyed reading, music, and spending time with her family, especially her 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her children: Mark, Kathleen (Kat), Stephen, David and Susan; her sister Mary and brother Jack. She was preceded in death by her daughter Elizabeth and her husband Donald. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at ST. JUDE OF THE LAKE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 700 Mahtomedi Avenue, Mahtomedi, MN 55115. Passed away peacefully at her Mahtomedi farm home of 57 years, surrounded by her family. Margaret was born in Albion, Nebraska on September 2, 1918 to Mathew and Pearl Dority. Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Bernard (Bun); brothers Paul, Joe, John and Lawrence Dority; daughter-in-law Bonnie Wlaschin. Survived by sons Mike and Dan; daughters Sheryl Noeker (Ron) and Mary Hinton (Bill); grandchildren LTCol Peter Wlaschin, Kim Quade (Dan), Kelly Walther (Gary), Kate Staples, Kitt Picard (Craig), Karen Bastyr (Ryan), Ann Noeker, Roshelle Verdeck (Mick); 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Margaret was a woman of many talents and skills. She was devoted to her family, church and God. Over the years she opened her home to many who needed shelter and a place to be loved. She loved animals and had many cats, dogs and horses over the years. She will be remembered for the hundreds of pies she made over the years for St. Jude’s CornFest, her self-taught sewing skills, her excellent cooking, and for being a welcoming hostess. The family wants to thank the staff and volunteers of Family Means and Home Instead for their loving help during our journey with Mom. Age 72 Longtime Mahtomedi Resident Passed away peacefully on October 31, 2012 at The Pillars Hospice. Special thanks to Christine, Mary, Sandy & Sue of HealthPartners Hospice; The Pillars staff & neighbor Donna for their loving & compassionate care. Karen was born Sept. 25, 1940 at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis to Lorenzo & Camille Wolgast. She attended Chisago Lakes Area Schools & graduated from Cadillac, MI High School. She worked in payroll for Remington Rand, Sperry & then Unisys. Travels included two Christmases in Hawaii, trips to Canada & annual trips to Cadillac. She retired from Unisys in 1990. In retirement, Karen & husband Jon spent eight winters on the gulf coast in Navarra Beach, FL. She loved the wildlife & scenic beauty of her home in Mahtomedi. Just outside her living room window were trophy bucks, does & fawns. It was cool to see deer bedded down in her yard & to watch the rut in all its glory. Hobbies included roller skating, downhill skiing, bowling, crafts, reading & jig saw puzzles. Crafts included Swedish weaving & embossed note cards. She sold her crafts, left many keepsakes in her home & enjoyed her time with other crafters. Preceded in death by parents Lorenzo & Camille; brother Jack Wolgast; very special aunt Lucille Benson of Cadillac; & beloved pet dog Cedar. Survived by loving husband of nearly 40 years, Jon; brother Jay Wolgast (Barbara); 2 nieces; 4 nephews; & many cousins. Karen was born May 24, 1939 in Minneapolis, MN and married on May 7, 1960.
